Cryptid's Chasm
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
#Background:
Deep underground, in the heart of an abandoned mineshaft, you find yourself searching for a legendary creature - a cryptid that has eluded humanity for generations.
The mythical predator knows these tunnels better than you ever could, and it won't rest until it's claimed another victim. Every step you take could be your last.
The key to your survival lies in the soundscape around you - the creaking timbers, the dripping water, the echoing footsteps that reveal the labyrinthine twists and turns of the mineshaft. Listen carefully to the creature's every movement, and you may survive another day.
Time is running out, and the beast is closing in. Will you be the one to uncover the truth about the elusive cryptid? Or will you become just another forgotten victim, lost forever in the depths of its chasm?

Movement: WASD, arrow keys, or numpad
Rotate Left/Right: Q & E, or numpad 7 & 9

(Note: After installing, in the settings.txt file, you can modify the game to make it somewhat easier or more difficult. You can also optionally skip the intro and the "press any key" part.)
#Windows Installation:
Extract the archive into a folder, and run "CryptidsChasm.exe" to play.
Game settings can be found in the streaming assets folder, located at "CryptidsChasm_Data\StreamingAssets\settings.txt" on Windows.
Unity may ask you for firewall permission, but this game does not require an internet connection and has no online features.
#Linux Installation:
Extract the archive into a folder, then run "./CryptidsChasm.x86_64" to play.
Game settings can be found in the streaming assets folder, located at "CryptidsChasm_Data/StreamingAssets/settings.txt".
#MacOS Installation:
Extract the archive into a folder, then run the app.
The settings file can be found in the streaming assets folder, located at "CryptidsChasm-Mac.app/Contents/Resources/Data/StreamingAssets/settings.txt".
Due to a permissions bug, you may need to add the proper file permissions by following these steps:
1. Open Terminal or iTerm and type "chmod -R 755 ". Then drag the .app into the window, which will paste the full filepath. For example, "chmod -R 755 filepath\CryptidsChasm-Mac.app". Press Enter.
2. You can now open the app file normally. If it still fails because gatekeeper can't verify the file, then go into your "Security and Privacy" in "System Preferences" and allow the app to open from there.
